Constellations
I’ve been spending almost three hours a day in the truck this fall. Long commutes mean choosing what to fill your ears with. And in turn, your brain. An account of the Lusitania. Sports radio after a Patriots loss. The Bhagavad Gita. Smartless. Random Spotify playlists.
Yesterday I started a book on digital marketing. Not my usual choice, but something stuck out : the author’s insistence on having a north star before starting any marketing campaign. Before you spend time and money getting try to get somewhere, it helps to know where you’re going.
It’s the same clarity the 3Ps need to work. Before you can decide which projects to say yes or no to, you have to know what kind of work you want to be doing.
I’ve been trying to define my north star. It’s easier said than done.
It’s more than picking up rocks and setting them down. Its more than wanting to building cool things with stone.
Something like: Ancient craft. New possibilities.
I don’t know. Maybe it is just wanting to build cool things with stone.
So, what’s your north star?
