Strike a Pose

The photographer’s ask was simple:
Pick a project you’re proud of.

Simple, but not easy.

As soon as I started weighing the options, the doubts rolled in. This is for a magazine, after all. Doesn’t it have to be perfect?

I made a short list of potential projects. And a long list of reasons why none of them would work.

The landscaping isn’t finished.
I don’t want to promote patios.
There’s not enough stonework to make an impact.
The wall is good, but not great.

Perfectionist? Afraid of being seen?
Are those the same thing?

I picked one.
One I’m proud of.
One that represents the direction I’d like to go with my work.

It’s not perfect.
Nor does it have to be.
